帝遣游击将军邓隆助硃浮讨彭宠。隆军潞南，浮军雍奴，遣吏奏状。帝读檄，怒，谓使吏曰：“营相去百里，其势岂可得相及！比若还，北军必败矣。”彭宠果遣轻兵击隆军，大破之；浮远，遂不能救。
盖延围睢阳数月，克之。刘永走至虞，虞人反，杀其母、妻；永与麾下数十人奔谯。苏茂、佼强、周建合军三万馀人救永；延与战于沛西，大破之。永、强、建走保湖陵，茂奔还广乐；延遂定沛、楚、临淮。
帝使太中大夫伏隆持节使青、徐二州，招降郡国。青、徐群盗闻刘永破败，皆惶怖请降。张步遣其掾孙昱随隆诣阙上书，献鳆鱼。隆，湛之子也。
堵乡人董反宛城，执南阳太守刘粦。扬化将军坚镡攻宛，拔之；走还堵乡。

August, Emperor personally led his troops to fight the Five Generals. On the 3rd day of the B111i month, he went to Ninghuang and greatly defeated the Five Generals there, reducing their number to five hundred thousand.
Emperor ordered游击将军邓隆 to assist Zhu Fu in fighting against Peng Cong. Dr. Deng’s army was in Lunnan, while Zhu’s forces were in Yongnu. The two sent officials to report their actions. Upon reading the envoy’s report, Emperor became angry and said to the officials, “Their camp is a hundred li away from each other. How could they hope to reach each other? If you return in time, the northern army will surely fall.” As expected, Peng Cong indeed sent light forces to attack Dr. Deng’s forces but suffered a crushing defeat; Zhu was too far away to intervene effectively.
Gai Yan surrounded Suyang for several months until he captured it. Liu Yong fled to Yu, where the people of Yu turned against him and killed his mother and wife. Yong and his remaining men fled to Chao. Su Mao, Jiao Qiang, and Zhou Jian gathered more than three hundred thousand troops to rescue Yu; Gai Yan clashed with them at Peixi in Shaoba, crushing their forces. Yong, Qiang, and Jian sought refuge in Hubing, while Mao returned to Guangle. Then, Gai Yan finally conquered Pei, Chu, and Lvheng.
Emperor sent Tai Zhongdang, holding a seal, to command the military of Qing and Xuzhou to recruit and reduce various counties. The bandits in Qing and Xuzhou heard about Liu Yong’s defeat, and all were terrified and asked for surrender. Zhang Bu sent his clerk Sun Yue to follow Tai Zhongdang to the capital, presenting abalone fish as tribute. Tai Zhongdang, a grandson of Zhan Ting, dispatched Sun Yue to court along with a petition.
Nidong people revolted against Yu City and captured the Nanyang governor. Yang Huan attacked Yanzhou but failed to capture it. Jiang Xin retreated to Nidong.
