帝舜有虞氏，母曰握登，见大虹意感，而生舜于姚墟。目重瞳子，故名重华。龙颜大口，黑色，身长六尺一寸。舜父母憎舜，使其涂廪，自下焚之，舜服鸟工衣服飞去。又使浚井，自上填之以石，舜服龙工衣自傍而出。耕于历山，梦眉长与发等。及即帝位，蓂荚生于阶，凤凰巢于庭，击石拊石，百兽率舞，景星出房，地出乘黄之马，西王母献白环、玉玦。舜在位十有四年，奏钟石笙筦未罢，而天大雷雨，疾风发屋拔木，桴鼓播地，钟磬乱行，舞人顿伏，乐正狂走。舜乃拥璇持衡而笑曰“明哉。夫天下非一人之天下也，亦乃见于钟石笙筦乎”乃荐禹于天，使行天子事。于时和气普应，庆云兴焉，若烟非烟，若云非云，郁郁纷纷，萧索轮囷，百工相和而歌《庆云》。帝乃倡之曰“庆云烂兮，纠缦缦兮。日月光华，旦复旦兮”群臣咸进，稽首曰“明明上天，烂然星陈。日月光华，弘予一人”帝乃再歌曰“日月有常，星辰有行。四时从经，万姓允诚。于予论乐，配天之灵。迁于圣肾，莫不咸听。乎鼓之，轩乎舞之。精华以竭，褰裳去之”于是八风修通，庆云业聚，蟠龙奋迅于其藏，蛟鱼踊跃于其渊，龟鳖咸出其穴，迁虞而事夏。舜乃设坛于河，依尧故事。至于下昃，荣光休气至，黄龙负《图》，长三十二尺，广九尺，出于坛畔，赤文绿错，其文言当禅禹。

Translation:    
The great dragon in the sky, Emperor Shun's parents saw it and were inspired by it, giving birth to Shun in Yao's village.    
Heaven gave birth with a vision of the great dragon, thus, he was named "Heavenly He."    
The dragon's face was broad, his eyes deep, and its body length was six feet and one-inch.    
Shun's parents disliked him because they thought he was too good, so they threw his food away from the storehouse and then set fire to it from above. Shun, wearing bird clothing, flew away. They also tried to dig down to him using stones, but he escaped out from the side. When he was working at the Mountain of Records, he had a dream that his eyebrows grew as long as his hair. Upon assuming the throne, a swallow feather landed on the steps. A peacock nested on the courtyard, and an emperor striking a stone caused all animals to dance. The bright star appeared in the house, and a flying horse appeared from the ground. The Western Goddess presented a white jade ring and a jade ring to him. During his reign, there were fourteen years of music and bells without stopping. But suddenly, a strong thunderstorm came and a violent wind ripped off the roof. Musicians and dancers fell flat, and bells and flutes rang loudly, and dancers fell prostrate, and musicians ran wild. Then, he wore the jade ring, and said, "Is it clear? The world is not only for one person, but it can also manifest through musical instruments." Then, he recommended Yu to heaven and allowed Yu to perform the duties of a ruler. At that time, the atmosphere was harmonious, and the celebration clouds rose, as if smoke and not smoke. It was so densely spread, with the air so still, the leaves swirled, the trees shook, and the artisans sang the "Cloud Celestial Balloon." Emperor Shun then led them in singing, "The Cloud Celestial Balloon glows; the threads are tightly knotted." Sun and moon have their regularity; stars move forward according to laws. Four seasons follow the path, thousands of people are true. I am discussing music, which is in harmony with the heavens. Move to the sacred heart, no one can hear. Then he struck the drums and danced with them. The essence of the treasure was exhausted, so he took off his clothes and left.    
Afterwards, the eight winds were fully open, the Cloud Celestial Balloon gathered its strength, a dragon roared fiercely in its hidden place, fish leapt up in its depth, turtle and frog emerged from their holes, moved to Tang and served Zhou. Then, he set up a altar in the Hu River, following the practices of Yao. By the late hours of sunrise, the glory and the refreshing scent of the light came, a yellow dragon carrying the "chart," thirty-two meters long, nine meters wide, emerged from the edge of the altar, with red and green designs. This meant that the succession should be transferred to Yu.
