He led the king’s orders to the cave, hard-working together to catch ghostly creatures. They were not long before they reached the cave’s entrance, and he dropped his cloud head to earth. Peacock-legged Zan, wielding his pike, struck the stone door of the moon cave with all his might, making a hole as big as a fist. He scared off the guards who guarded the door, seeing that it was him and his companions. “What are you doing now? You’ve come back to break our door!” The guards cried out in alarm. “Are we forgotten something? Did you come here to take something?” the old demon roared. Quick to gather his armor, he drew his steel knife, came out to question them: “Those two monks, what business do you have with me?” Zan said, “This brute has done good deeds!” The old demon said, “What is this matter?” Zan replied, “You’ve taken away the Crown Princess from Bao’s state and forced yourself upon her for thirteen years, she should be given back.” I came to King Xuanwu on behalf of his majesty, to capture you. You should return home by yourself and tie yourself up with the rope; otherwise, my pig will have no choice but to strike.” The old demon, angered, sprang up, gritted his teeth, glared at the eyes like a snake, raised his sword to attack. Zan sidestepped and blocked with his pike, then followed with Sha Shen’s staff. This battle between heaven and earth was very different from before, truly an insult that words could not express, poisonous intent that hatred created. His steel knife hit his head, Zan parried with his Nine-Tailed Pig Paw, the latter met face to face. Following that, there would be another monk, carrying his staff. The first one said, “You deceived the Crown Princess and took her into your house; you’ve been mistreating her for thirteen years, it’s your duty to give her back.” The other monk said, “You made trouble for someone else.” The first one said, “You took advantage of a woman.” The other one said, “You had no business interfering!” It turned out that it was only about sending letters that caused the monks and demons to be unable to live in peace. They were arguing on the hillside for more than eight rounds, and Zan gradually couldn’t hold on anymore; his pike was difficult to lift and his strength was lessened. Why did this battle go against him? At the beginning, when fighting started, there were protectors from the gods who protected Tianzhu, assisting Zan and Sha Seng so they could win easily. Now, all the gods are protecting Baoyi State, making it difficult for them. That lazy dog said, “Sha Seng, let’s get up and fight him over,” so he didn’t bother about Sha Seng any longer, quickly ran into the weeds and thistles, untidy grasses and thorny shrubs, without even minding whether it hurts or scratches, rolled over and went to sleep, never coming out again, only keeping one ear, listening to the sound of the drum. The monster saw Zan leave and chased after Sha Seng. Sha Seng was caught off guard and was grabbed, and was dragged into the cave where he was bound tightly with small dogs. It’s hard to say how he will fare in the end, shall we wait for the next chapter to see?
